“From Little Acorns Mighty Oaks do Grow” Red, Blue and Yellow Group
Our purpose in education is not to fill the children’s mind with facts but rather to teach them to think and to always think for themselves. We strive to meet this purpose by providing the children with many different types of learning activities. Our children take part in cognitive and creative activities, sensopathic play, outdoor play, fantasy play and life skills to name a few. They are also encouraged to do woodwork, block building and even gardening in our very own veggie garden! We believe that our playtime activities, such as the outdoor play area, is not simply playing. Our children are constantly learning during all the activities that fill their morning at school. Our Yellow Group, or Grade R, also have computer lessons on a weekly basis where the children learn to use a computer and are also taught various new skills with the help of Smart Board Technology. We encourage our children to develop their social skills through the interaction that they have with their friends, classmates and teachers. Our children’s families are also very involved with their school life and we often have activities that include our mommies and daddys. We build self-confidence from an early age through our school concerts and other performances, an important life skill! |
