| Welcome to the St Patrick’s College Website and thank you for taking time to look at our school. St Patrick’s College, as an Independent Christian School, is a mere eighteen years old but we can trace our service to the people of East Griqualand back to the eighteen nineties, when the Holy Cross Convent opened a primary school at the St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral to serve the farming and trading community of the time. We have come a long way since then and now offer a holistic education to pupils from the age of three to nineteen, with the later group writing the Independent Examinations Board National Senior Certificate. |

Despite the progress made, we still pride ourselves on our vision statement of “Leadership Through Service” and the school motto “Strive for the Highest.” St Patricks College, being a small school, is able to offer a very personalised learning experience and, because we take part in all the major sport types in the region, ensures that all pupils take part in all aspects of our curriculum. Pupils play any number of team sports including rugby, hockey, netball and soccer as well as taking part in cultural activities such as dramatic productions, steel drumming and dance. In addition, our unique rural position allows us to encourage adventure racing, hiking, mountain biking, polocrosse and other less well known sports. All children in the high school are expected to give back to the community by offering a minimum of twenty hours of service per year.
I am proud of our St Patrick’s Community and hope that, through browsing our site, you will get a feel for our very special family and caring ethos. Enjoy...... |
